Important news: The 2011 Open Tasmania event will NOT be held due to the warnings and suggested lockdown of all pigeons by the DPI. All fanciers are asked to please be very diligent and treat this outbreak with extreme caution.
The committee of the HTWC are currently working through the best action to now take for 2012 and will post out information as soon as possible. Please be patient as we work out what we feel is the best solution to this unfortunate situation. There will be an oldbird section for eligable birds in 2012!
Information regarding Tasmania 2011, results for Kangaroo Island and information for 2012 is being posted out. Now we have a firm direction of what we can do, we can begin to make concrete plans for this incredible race that so many support.
At this stage there will be no sales of babies before January 2012. Sales will be scheduled for beyond this date, but will only go ahead if the cautions from DPI are lifted. At no stage will the sales go ahead if DPI do not recommend that they do.
For now, ring nomination forms are being posted out. This is the safest way to ensure you will be part of this great event.
1. All buyers of 2011 HTWC rings for the Tasmanian event will be allowed one ring nomination for each purchase.
2. All buyers of any 2011 HTWC bird from any sale for the Tasmanian event will be allowed one ring nomination for each purchase.
3. Any buyer seeking a refund will be refunded the cost of any birds that are still in the loft as inspected by a HTWC official. Call Tom Lett - 0402498381 for more information.
2012:
A portion of the 2011 prize money will be allocated to the 2012 event, and the remainder will be for an old bird section for birds that were eligible for the 2011 race (not held).
The old bird section will also be ongoing in future years.
Examples:
JJ purchased 7 breeders plate birds, 3 pink rings and 5 black rings. He has 5 of these birds left. JJ gets to nominate 15 rings for 2012 and his 5 x 2010 rung birds will be eligible for the old bird prize pool in 2012.
Ring nominations must be as per the nomination requirements set out in the nomination form.
Nomination forms not returned by the 31st October will be allocated to breeders on the buyers behalf. Therefore the original buyer will still be in the race.
